| July, 2004 - Surveying completed for the renovation of the Southern/BOK field |
| 2.5 Million budgeted by the school district |
| The Sports Complex Special Services District has approved $286,000
in funding for security fencing |
| Improvements include:
>
new fencing around the field and track
> a synthetic field with a rubber track
>
new grandstands
>
new scoreboard
>
reseeding the field
>
elimination of the basketball courts |
| Main entrance for football will be on 10th St. |
| Entrance for baseball, soccer and offices with be on Bigler St. |
| SPCCA and town watch offices will be on site |
| A committee will approve permits for ALL groups using the facility |
| This committee will be made up of people from our neighborhood,
the
SPCCA, the sports district, the school district and representatives
from the
offices of Anna Verna, Bill Keller and Senator Vincent Fumo |
| There will be NO late night usage. Lights will be off by 9:00 pm |
| Gates will be locked after scheduled activities |
| Security lights will be installed to assist security and police surveillance |
| Police will have a key to the facility |
| Stella Maris, Neumann/Goretti will be the primary users |
| The field will continue to be available to the immediate neighborhood
for walking and jogging |
