'Friends of Marconi Park'
The 'Friends of Marconi Park' is made up of members from the SPCCA,
Lower Moyamensing Civic Association (LOMO),
Marconi Area Residents Civic Assoc. (
M.A.R.C.O.),
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Dept., and the Sports Complex/
SCSSD.

The initial phase is focusing on increased lighting, tree trimming in and around the park,
bench repair and exploring water sources within the park
for existing trees and future plantings.

The SCSSD has generously agreed to be responsible for trees
on the outside perimeter of the park.
The Parks and Recreation Dept. will be responsible for trees within the park.

  Street Cleaning within the SCSSD:

The Sports Complex Special Services District has street cleaners for the four districts that make up the SCSSD.
Click here for a map of the four districts that are covered by the SCSSD.

> These services are paid for by the SCSSD as part of their commitment to building and maintaining good neighborhood relations. This is only one of the services they provide for our neighborhood.
> Their primary purpose is to clear trash, debris, etc. in the streets.
> They are not allowed to go onto private property, driveways or yards to pickup items.
> Their schedule is tracked, monitored and documented each day to assure a regular cleaning within the 36 sub-districts that the SCSSD is cleaning.

UESF provides financial assistance to low income individuals and families who are facing utility terminations or who have had their utilities already terminated. PECO, the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW), and the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) provide matching funds in the form of dollar for dollar utility bill credits. UESF assistance is available to individuals and families only every two years.
